$60.00

  • Online Zoom Workshop

  • Saturday, November 14th

  • 1:30 - 4:30

This exciting Online Pastel Painting Workshop with Teresa Saia will focus on the basics for creating dramatic, dynamic, timeless landscapes: value, composition and simplifying shapes into strong abstract design. Color relationships, edges, temperature of light will be discussed, as well as the application of value sketches and atmospheric perspective for stronger statements in your paintings.

  • STRONG VALUE STATEMENTS:  Demonstrating the power of large, simplified shapes and the subsequent steps in breaking those shapes into distinct areas of light and dark. Developing depth and form with good value choices and then pumping up the color to make a visually dynamic painting.

  • CREATING MOOD IN THE LANDSCAPE:  Maintaining the correct values to enhance the mood you want to create.  Knowing how edge quality can help to enhance the effect of depth in the landscape. Creating consistent light direction for the time of day. Managing low light and backlight for dramatic impact.

Also to be discussed: creating a passionate approach to your subject matter, evoking a more interactive response with the viewer!

REQUIREMENT: You must be a current APS member to attend.
