ABOUT THE ARTIST
Linda Pollak
Laura Pollak is an award-winning professional artist whose luminous pastel paintings have been exhibited in international shows, museums, and galleries throughout the United States and abroad. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Laura developed a love for the arts at an early age, studying ballet, piano, and visual art. She earned her Master of Arts degree from Michigan State University and pursued postgraduate studies at the Center for Creative Studies, where she focused on painting and graphic design.
Before becoming a full-time artist, Laura enjoyed a successful career in advertising, working with major agencies and clients including Sears, Nortel, Kraft, Kodak, and General Motors. After relocating to North Carolina in 1985, she founded her own advertising agency and later transitioned fully into fine art.
Laura’s paintings are recognized for their rich color, dramatic light, and emotional storytelling. She describes her work as “bits of reality infused with imagination,” inviting viewers to complete the narrative within each piece. Her accomplishments include numerous national and international awards, including top honors from the International Association of Pastel Societies, the Pastel Society of North Carolina, and the Pastel Society of the West Coast.
She is a Juried Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and a Master Circle Artist with the International Association of Pastel Societies. In addition to exhibiting widely, Laura teaches workshops, online classes, and mentors artists across the country.
