2025 Adventures in Pastel
Welcome to the Adventure Series online group activities for 2025!
We are excited to offer our members a new set of six challenges beginning in January, 2025! What better way to explore and experiment and discover the joys of pastel painting. If you are new to our Adventure Series, this is how it works: On the third Wednesday of the month you will receive a new Adventure via your APS Member email that will challenge you to use your pastels in a unique and creative way.

April 16, 2025 – Adventure G-4, “Rusty Trucks or Cars”
It’s been said that the best place to find a rusty truck or car is in the farmland of the South. For this adventure, select a rusty truck or car that interests you. The overall palette, size, and type of surface used are your choice. Deadline is April 23, 2025 6:00PM.

March 19, 2025 – Adventure G-3, “Paint the Mood”
For this adventure, your challenge is to create a pastel painting of your choice that suggests or conveys a mood. Energy, solitude, happiness, tranquility, anger, nostalgia are a few of the wide range of moods that can be expressed in paintings. Deadline is March 26, 2025 6:00PM.

The G-2 Adventure challenge centers on books, one cherished book, a stack of beautiful bindings or a room filled to the ceiling. Artist’s choice. Deadline is February 26, 2025 6:00PM.

January 22, 2025 – Adventure G-1, “By the Sea”
This Adventure has been inspired by our January meeting guest artist Lana Ballot. We have named our challenge “By the Sea.” This gives us a lot of leeway as long as what we paint is something by the sea! Deadline is January 29, 2025, 6:00PM.
