SUMMERTIME BLUES, 14 x 11
“This is what I want to tell you. I can’t not paint.
I love to move colors around with pastels. I love the challenge of orchestrating a blank paper in to a symphony of color.
How do I explain as I walk down a street or drive in a car and observe what is before me, that in my mind, I am painting? I think about how I would describe the sky is in late afternoon as it illuminates the angles on an alley.
Or, as I passed my window, I think about how that intense dash of vermilion popping out in the grayness of the trees in winter would convey the most handsome cardinal.
I have chosen to lead a fairly simple existence, doing positive things and making use of my gifts to create things that are beautiful to witness and to share my witness of things beautiful.
I have tried to bring awareness to others through teaching about it.
We can only do small things, most of us, to make this world a better place to live.”
